February Secret Pal Gifts

This month my Dear Jane secret pal sent some lovely gifts. A handmade basket tote in lavender and a pink inside [this picture is fuzzy, sorry].

Included with the tote is some lovely fabrics and a quilt magazine to browse through. Some great ideas in there for sure.  With all the fabric she has sent I will have enough to make some great table runners or wall hangings.

Goodnight My King!

I finished another block for the Piecemaker quilt - the Lion block.  It is called "Goodnight My King".  This is a quilt that celebrates all God has done for us.

In the end all creatures will all bow and celebrate the True King and night will be no more.

First Attempts

My granddaughter Hannah wanted to make a hat for the new baby sister or brother coming this summer. She decided on white since it would work for either.  Her other grandma gave her a knitting set for Christmas and I finally figured out how to use it. 

Hannah worked on it for two days and finished it in time to give it to Mom on her first surprise shower for the baby.

And of course being Hannah, she had to practice at being pregnant.

They all had fun at the party.

My granddaughter Elaine was learning how to cross stitch and is making a tea pot to put on a bag to carry her Bible in.  She learned very fast and is doing a super job.



January Gift from Secret Sister

This year I signed up to participate in the Secret Sister program in the Dear Jane group.  In January I was away but after returning home I opened this lovely package with a Scrappy pattern book and some lovely batik fat quarters in my favorite lavender colors.  My secret sister was so good to me and I look forward to getting to know her throughout the year.

Sewing Row by Row

I finished my swap row quilt from last summer.  It is called 'Sewing Row by Row". My friends from the Friendship group made the individual rows in the swap.  I used my quilt pins and buttons to embellish the quilt. I love all the different rows, the wind and tea, measuring tapes, spools, machines, dress forms and being the queen of UFO.  such a great swap and I'm glad I was pushed into finishing this yesterday and can now hang it in my sewing room.

It's February Already

Can you believe that one month of the new year is gone already? I spent the month in Tennessee and North Carolina with my daughters and grand children.  It was a great time and I miss them dearly.
